Swim Lessons for School Aged Children!

School-age swim lessons involve fun and games, songs and play.
The goal of school-age swim lessons is self-rescue in a child-centered environment and a love for the water.
- Lesson Frequency: At least once per week minimum
- Lesson Length: 20-30 Minutes
- Program Length: Year-Round
- Lesson Structure: Private & Group Lessons
School Age Lessons
School Age Level 1 - Whale
Ages: 6-10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Comfortable in the water (buoyancy and balance)
- Shows readiness to begin learning swimming techniques
- Walk, feel, balance on step or platform
- Kicking skills
- Monkey walk
- Sit down jump with assistance (Humpty Dumpty)
- Introduction to back floating
- Submersion and breath control (holding)
- Floating on tummy
Prerequisites:
- New to swim lessons and/or just getting comfortable going under water.
- Ages +6 years old & up

School Age Level 2 - Sea Horse
Ages: 6 -10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Bubble blowing
- Introduction to movement
- Jellyfish float (front float)
- Back floating
- Circles on steps (U-Turn)
- Elevators
- Paddle arms (only if child is moving independently)
- Hokey Pokey
- Swim 5 feet comfortably
- Sit down jump, fishes in the ocean or Humpty Dumpty independently
- Retrieve objects from the bottom
Prerequisites:
- Child comfortable in the water and can go underwater.
- Ages +6 years old & up

School Age Level 3 - Dolphin
Ages: 6 -10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Independent back floating and roll-over breathing
- Introduction to streamline glide
- Swim 10 feet
- Elementary backstroke kicks
- Elementary backstroke arms
- Backstroke kicks with board
- Introduction to breaststroke kick
- Backstroke
- Introduction to dolphin kick
- Introduction to big arms (only when student can take a breath independently)
- Jump in, come back to side
- Jump in, come up on back
Prerequisites:
- Child swim 3-5 ft alone with head in the water and independent backfloat.
- Ages +6 years old & up

School Age Level 4 - Stingray
Ages: 6 -10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Freestyle with breathing to 1 side (Alternate Side Breathing can be started after breathing to one side is mastered)
- Perfect elementary backstroke
- Streamline with kicks
- Bobbing skills
- Swim 25 feet with side breathing
- Perfect backstroke stroke
- Breaststroke kicks
- Dolphin kicks
- Introduction to breaststroke arms
- Child swims 6-10 ft alone and rolls over on their back for a breath.
- Ages +6 years old & up

School Age Level 5 - Barracuda
Ages: 6 -10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Introduction to “FUN”damental breaststroke
- Introduction to “FUN”damental butterfly
- Introduction to backstroke drills
- Freestyle with alternate side breathing for 40 feet
- 5 minute continuous swim

School Age Level 6 - Shark
Ages: 6 -10 Years
What Will My Child Learn?
- Full stroke breaststroke with proper breathing
- Introduction to treading water
- Butterfly with breathing
- Introduction to Individual Medley
- Emphasis is on increasing distance with proficient stroke
- 10 minute continuous swim
