Coastal Swim Academy Absence and Makeup Policy

Consistency is crucial to not only the learning process, but also the retention of those learned skills. Bringing your child for every lesson will increase the rate of progress and retention of skills. 

We understand that unexpected situations arise, and we aim to provide flexibility with our make-up lesson policy. Please read the following guidelines carefully:

1. Notification Requirement To be eligible for a make-up lesson, you must mark your child absent at least one day prior to their regularly scheduled lesson. Absences reported after this timeframe will not qualify for a make-up lesson. Although we are not able to offer make up lessons for same day call outs, we really appreciate you letting us know if your child is unable to attend class.

2. Expiration of Make-Up Lessons Make-up lessons must be used within 30 days of the originally missed class. After 30 days, any unused make-ups will expire and can no longer be scheduled.

3. Current Enrollment Requirement Make-up lessons are available only while your child is actively enrolled in our program. You must be currently enrolled to schedule and attend make-up lessons.

4. Forfeiture of Unused Make-Up Lessons Any unused make-up lessons will be forfeited upon cancellation of your enrollment. Make-up lessons cannot be transferred or refunded.

5. Scheduling Make-Ups Make-up lessons are subject to availability and must be scheduled in advance. We cannot guarantee your preferred time slot or instructor.

You are responsible for submitting your absence and rescheduling your own make up through the parent portal. 

Any lessons canceled due to pool closures, inclement weather, or an emergency by Coastal Swim Academy, can be rescheduled with a make-up. There will be no refunds or credits.

Private lessons may be made up if a 24-hour notice of the absence is provided. Make-up classes for private lessons cannot be guaranteed and must be scheduled through the aquatics directors.

Absences and reschedules:

• One lesson can be rescheduled per month within 30 days of the absence.
• Additional absences can be rescheduled for a $10.00 fee per class.
• Absences may not be credited towards the next month’s tuition.
• Eligible make-ups are valid while you are enrolled. All unused make-ups expire when you withdraw and are not carried over upon re-enrollment.
• We do not guarantee the same teacher, time or student ratio for group lesson makeups.
